About The Risen Christ

These are my favorite bible verse's that are not literal quotes because I took out from the verse only what I wanted. And I will bet that you cannot find one verse where the meaning was changed as of the result of me only taking the basic truth from the verse. Here's an example:

Colossians 3:1
If ye then be risen with Christ...

The word "if" is introducing a simple condition assuming that it's true. In that respect, it may also be rendered "since." The fact that it's an accomplished reality was stated in Colossians 2:12-13 and Ephesians 2:5-6. Since these are my favorites, I made them easy for me to commit to memory using my own language. Thus I wrote:

Since I have been risen with Christ...

I did this often while I also left the old English in the verse wherever I wanted to. Why? Because these are only for me. They are my favorite truths from the listed verse's... in the language that would be best for me to understand. Oh, and one more thing, which is very important. Please keep in mind that I can change the wording of the following verse's without losing any part of the meaning because I know how to do it.

Jesus Christ was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; and declared to be the son of God with power, by the resurrection from the dead.

And Now For A Final Thought

For years I searched for a formula that would put me in good standing as a Christian. This all began in May of 1975 when I took my first Christian bible class. I was taught then that somehow I had the power of Jesus within me, the holy spirit, which is the gift from God when I accepted Jesus as my Lord.

I never really knew what that meant... "Jesus as my Lord". All I was trying to do was get born again, filled with the gift from God so I could have this holy spirit in my life. Now back to this idea that somehow I had the power of Jesus within me, the holy spirit, which is the gift from God. It was with this idea that I was taught that I had to operate this power because I had it.

I was never happy with what I was never able to produce with this spiritual power within me. So at the age of 40 years old is when I gave up on this idea that I could get God to energize His spirit that was now mine and then tell me how to use it. Oh, and there were the magic words that had to be said with this. No magic wands, just the words "in the name of Jesus Christ" like if magic words could make a difference.

This was the formula I first started to use to help me be a good Christian. Rule number one that I came to believe in the year of 1995.

Rule 1.
I cannot produce or operate a damn thing on my own. Nothing can I produce or operate concerning the things of God by myself.

I then spent the next 15 years trying to figure out how I could love God with all of my heart, with all of my mind, with all of my soul, and with all of my strength. So that became rule number two.

Rule 2.
Love God with all of my heart, with all of my mind, with all of my soul, and with all of my strength.

I got the idea in 1987 that Jesus was not really on vacation, waiting to do stuff again after he returns. But I still could not connect to him concerning the relationship I was seeking. However, I was able to make some sense out of the many verse's that say we could have fellowship with Jesus Christ and with the Father. This fellowship idea was blocked from my understanding for years because I was taught that the word "fellowship" in the bible meant a way that I needed to get my sins forgiven.

When I threw that idea out the window is when I was able to begin having a relationship with both Jesus Christ and the Father. I might add just a side note here that it's impossible to have a relationship with someone if we do not believe they are there. Or to receive something from them if we do not believe they could give it to us... mostly because we are not sure if they are there. E.W. Bullinger, defines the word "fellowship" in the following verse's as an act of partaking, sharing, i.e., participation.

1 Corinthians 1:9
called unto the fellowship of his Son

1 John 1:3
fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ

1 John 1: 6
have fellowship with him (God)

 1 John 1:7
we have fellowship one with another (God and us)

Rule 3.
Fellowship with Jesus Christ and with the Father.

God has made His Christ to be the Lord in my life. It's the Christ who has the power of God. Not me. It's done by his faith because it's he who has the power of God. Thus, it's by his authority, by his believing that the power of God is brought to pass.

Rule 4.
Jesus Christ has the power of God.

I simply believe because at this level to renew the mind is not to make it behave, but rather to make it believe. In doing so I bond in my mind with the spirit of Jesus Christ who has the authority to use the power of God.

Rule 5.
Believe them.

It seems to me that it all came to me two days ago on my birthday. I cannot do a damn thing on my own. Nothing. I have no ability. I have no power. I have no brains on my own. I have nothing without them. Nothing. So I now live there. I cannot do anything without their help. Outside of maybe brushing my teeth... I don't depend on myself for anything. In fact, I don't even think I am going to try to brush my teeth correctly without thinking of them when I do it.

I by myself, will probably screw it up somehow. Don't laugh. I just saw the dentist last Friday. Why am I writing all of this to you? Really I'm not. I wrote it for me. However, I will share since I now have it up here on the computer.

Note: It's been a few years since I wrote what I call "And Now For A Final Thought". If you are interested in how I grew and developed into walking by the spirit. Then feel free to view Appendix A and C that can be found at the bottom of the following link.
